Caipi | Austin Equine Photographer

CAIPI | 13 YEAR OLD KWPN | AUSTIN, TX

Caipi is a KWPN Gelding. He is trained by Kalli Smith at the Monarch Stables in Austin, TX.

Caipi is a magnificent horse with a flea-bitten gray coat and a cute pink nose that sets him apart from other horses. His distinctive coloring gives him a striking appearance that catches the eye of anyone who sees him. But what really makes Caipi stand out is his cheerful and friendly nature. He’s always happy, wagging his tail and looking for affection from his human friends.

But if there’s one thing that truly makes Caipi’s day, it’s food. He has a voracious appetite and is always on the lookout for something delicious to munch on. His love of food is infectious, and it’s impossible not to smile when watching him munch away on some tasty treats. Despite his insatiable hunger, Caipi is always gentle and kind, making him a joy to be around.

Ryleigh, Caipi’s owner, first came across him while searching for a new horse to lease. After several unsuccessful attempts to find the right fit, Ryleigh stumbled upon Caipi and was immediately struck by his friendly demeanor. Despite having only been with Caipi for a relatively short time of about 4 months, Ryleigh has already formed a close bond with him and enjoys spending time with him both on the saddle and on the ground.

One thing that Caipi can’t resist is a sweet and crunchy honey nature valley bar. Whenever his owner brings one of these treats out, Caipi’s ears perk up and she starts to get excited. As soon as he gets a whiff of the delicious aroma, he can hardly contain his enthusiasm. As soon as he gets a chance, Caipi eagerly devours the treat, crunching away on the honey-flavored oats and nuts with pure delight.

Ryleigh has been passionate about riding horses for as long as she can remember. It all started when she was just 5 years old, and her best friend started taking riding lessons. Intrigued by the idea of being able to ride horses, Ryleigh decided to join in on the fun and began taking lessons too.

From the very beginning, Ryleigh fell in love with the thrill of riding and the connection she felt with these majestic animals. As she continued to take lessons and develop her skills, she became more and more passionate about the sport. Now, many years later, riding horses remains a central part of Ryleigh’s life. And while it all began with a simple desire to try something new with her best friend, it’s clear that her love for horses and riding has only grown stronger over time.

One of Ryleigh’s favorite memories with Caipi was their first show together at WEF. Despite only having ridden her a few times before the competition, Ryleigh and Caipi had quickly developed a strong partnership and were ready to take on the competition. After two weeks of working together to figure each other out, the duo ended up with an impressive reserve championship in the junior equitation category. The feeling of accomplishment and joy was indescribable, and Ryleigh knew that it was all thanks to Caipi’s incredible talent and hard work.

Looking back on that day, Ryleigh still feels a sense of pride and gratitude for Caipi and all that he’s taught her. It’s a memory that she’ll cherish for years to come and a testament to the strong bond between a horse and its rider.
