Dana Senn, his owner, recalls her favorite memory with Brady: “My favorite memory of Brady was this year getting back in the show ring with him at WEF after he had three years off due to an injury and surgery. From the moment we stepped back in the show ring together, I could feel his pure happiness to be back at it together. He really rose to the occasion after his time off and earned some great ribbons in the older adult hunter division. He even took me around his and my very first time showing during Hunter week in the International arena. It was pouring rain and he just marched in there so beautifully. It has been such a joy to be back at it with my ‘best boy’ at home in Texas and in the show ring.”
Dana first met Brady in Wellington, Florida, in 2018. He had just been imported from Europe to be a 1.40 jumper by his previous owner, but when they tried him as a hunter, he found his true calling. Dana originally leased him for a year and quickly fell in love, deciding to buy him during that year as he learned the ropes of being a hunter.
Brady’s personality is as large as his physical presence. He is a real ham and flirt, always happy and affectionate, both at home and at shows. He absolutely loves to show and is always ready to perform. Dana fondly describes him as her “heart horse” and a total mama’s boy.
Brady’s love for treats is universal; he enjoys all of them without any particular favorite. His accomplishments are notable; he was reserve champion at WEF in 2020 in the adult hunters. After his injury and surgery, his remarkable comeback to the show ring has made Dana incredibly proud. He has returned to full work and continues to be a joy to show.
Dana has been riding since she was 7, starting with saddle seat and Saddlebreds. After college and law school, she wanted to get back into riding and found a hunter jumper barn close to where she was living, which led her to try jumping. Her favorite aspect of owning horses is the incredible bond formed with each horse, a sentiment that Brady exemplifies perfectly.
