Bouverie Trinity is a 15-year-old Selle France and goes by “Bo.” He is owned and cared for by Halyna. The dynamic duo trains at Elmstead Farm with Britt McCormick.
Bo is a stunning chestnut gelding with a unique white blaze. He is what Halyna considers a gentleman. He is a great partner in the ring and she loves his consistency. One of her favorite memories of Bo is when they ended up placing first in one of their shows. They were one of the last pairs to go and although she felt confident in their round it was a shock to hear that they had won the class.
Halyna’s mom and her trainer were in Europe looking for show horses and they weren’t going to look at Bo initially. He was a bit older than they were interested in. But as luck would have it they went to see him anyway and her trainer knew that he would be a good fit for Halyna.
Halyna has loved horses for as long as she can remember. She always begged her mom for a horse and in 2015 on Christmas, she and her sister were surprised with their first horse, Remi. Since then Halyna has owned and ridden horses. She even became a working student so she could learn as much about horses and showing as possible. There isn’t a single aspect of having horses that Halyna doesn’t enjoy.
Did you know that horses can be used in all kinds of therapy? Mini horses can be used as service animals and even regular size horses often visit senior living homes.
Karinda K. is a Houston, TX based equine photographer that travels around the United States photographing equestrians and their horses. Portraits for Charity was an idea Karinda dreamt up to help give back to families impacted by Childhood Cancer in memory of her husband’s sister Jessica. During the 2021 Pin Oak Charity Horse Show Karinda photographed around 140 Horses, Dogs, and even Goats, and was able to donate $10,000 to Candlelighter’s Houston. These are the stories of the Horses, Dogs, and Goats that were photographed at the show, these stories complement a photographic book that Karinda is printing and donating to Texas Children’s Hospital featuring Portraits of each and every animal she photographed.
