Cheer Up is a 6-year-old Zangersheide who lives in Austin, TX and is owned by Blythe, and goes by the name “Charlie.” The dynamic duo trains at Switch Willo Stables.
Charlie is a grey Zangersheide gelding who was bred by Stadnina Kruszynscy. He is by Bajou du Rouet and out of Cavalo Z. Charlie is a sweet boy who Blythe considers a ‘teddy bear.’ He’s often called “Charlie Angel” because of his sweet personality. He’s a goofy boy who likes to take his leftover hay and spread it all over his shavings to sleep on.
Blythe and Charlie are just beginning their partnership. She’s had him just over a year and they’re learning to work together as a team. Charlie is six which is pretty young for a competitive jumping horse. So he’s still learning the mechanics and environment for competition.
Blythe has been riding since she was 8 years old but only recently found her way back to it after going through medical school and beginning her career. She loves giving Charlie all of his favorite treats and looks forward to what their partnership holds for the future.
Did you know that horses’ bones don’t stop growing until they’re at least 4 years old? Some breeds like Warmbloods and Draft horses can grow for as long as 8 years!
