BLUE SKIES AHEAD | 5-YEAR-OLD AMERICAN SADDLEBRED GELDING | WEATHERFORD, TEXAS

Meet Maverick, the 5-year-old American Saddlebred known in the show ring as Blue Skies Ahead. With his charming small white star and two back white ankles, Maverick is a standout at Brian Hadley Stables in Weatherford, TX. Brian Hadley Stables is renowned for its excellent care and top-notch training programs, providing a perfect environment for Maverick and his rider, Teri Beaty.

Teri has been riding since she was 12 years old and got her first horse at that age. She fell in love with Saddlebreds about 30 years ago, and Maverick has been a wonderful addition to her equestrian journey. “I have only had him about a year and a half, and he is just a super oversized dog and wants to be in your lap standing well at 17 hands. He is the most personable horse I have owned so far,” Teri shares.

Teri, an Amateur Owner Trainer (AOT), keeps Maverick at her house, where they have developed a strong bond. Maverick’s personable nature makes him a joy to be around, always seeking attention and affection. “He is like a giant lap dog,” Teri says with a smile.

Maverick’s journey to Teri began when her trainer advertised him on a Facebook site. From the moment they met, Teri knew Maverick was special. “He was born to be a western horse,” she notes, appreciating his natural talent and grace in that discipline.

Maverick has a love for any kind of treat, including carrots and peppermints. His playful and affectionate nature makes treat time a fun experience for both.

Teri is excited to continue her journey with Maverick and looks forward to many successful shows and cherished memories. Being part of the equestrian community and showing her horse has always been a dream for Teri, and she feels fortunate to be living it now.
