BARTENDER | 10 YEAR OLD ZANGERSHEIDE | BIXBY, OK
Brad, Bartender, is a Zangersheide Gelding. He lives and trains at Eighteen Acres Farm in Bixby, Oklahoma.
Brad is a magnificent horse with a dark brown coat that shines brilliantly in the sun. He is easily recognizable by the distinctive white star on his forehead and the two white socks on his legs. Despite his impressive appearance, Brad is also known for his stoic and reliable nature, always focused on his work and eager to do his job to the best of his abilities. No matter what the task at hand, Brad remains steadfast and dedicated, making him a valuable member of any team he’s a part of.
Sarah, Brad’s owner, discovered him through her trainer, who had recently imported him in 2022. As soon as Sarah saw Brad, she knew he was the perfect horse for her. She was drawn to his strong, reliable nature and his unwavering focus on his work.
When it comes to treats, Brad is a horse with a discerning palate. But there’s one thing that always gets his attention: watermelon! Brad simply can’t resist the sweet, juicy goodness of this delicious fruit.
Sarah’s love for horseback riding began when she was just 11 years old, taking riding lessons and learning the ins and outs of horsemanship. However, as she pursued her education and medical training, riding took a back seat for many years. It wasn’t until she turned 30 that Sarah rediscovered her passion for horses and decided to dive back into the equestrian world. At first, she wasn’t sure where her renewed interest in riding would take her, but eventually, she decided to chase her childhood dreams by owning and showing her horse at A shows. It’s been an incredible journey for Sarah, full of challenges and triumphs, and she’s grateful for every moment she gets to spend in the saddle.
Sarah has many fond memories of her time with Brad, but one, in particular, stands out as her favorite. At a horse show, Sarah and her team noticed that one of their tack trunks was constantly open, despite their efforts to keep it shut. After a bit of investigating, they discovered that it was none other than Brad who was responsible for the persistent open trunk! As it turns out, Brad had figured out how to reach the latch and was eagerly exploring the contents inside, searching for treats or goodies. Sarah couldn’t help but laugh at Brad’s mischievous antics, and the memory of his persistent efforts to get a taste of the goodies inside the trunk still brings a smile to her face. It’s moments like these that make Sarah appreciate the unique personality and charm of her beloved horse.
