ASPEN SHADOW | 13 YEAR-OLD IRISH SPORT HORSE | MAGNOLIA, TX
Aspen, Aspen Shadow, is an Irish Sport Horse Mare.
Aspen is trained by Erin Jarvis at True Catori Farm in Magnolia, TX. She is a beautiful flea-bitten gray horse with a personality that’s as unique as her coat. She is known for being a very loving horse that enjoys spending time with her human companions. Despite her serious appearance, Aspen has a funny and playful side that endears her to everyone who meets her. Her friendly nature and affectionate demeanor make her a true joy to be around.
Alexandra’s journey with Aspen began when her dad suggested she ride his best friend’s daughter’s horse for a change. As a beginner, Alexandra was looking for a fun experience and rode Aspen only once. Over a year later, she found out that Aspen was up for sale and went to GSW to try her out as a potential purchase. Alexandra fell in love with Aspen and knew that she was more advanced than her riding skills at the time. However, she was determined to grow and learn with her. When the sale was finalized, Alexandra was thrilled and never looked back. She feels incredibly happy with Aspen in her life and credits her horse with teaching her valuable lessons along the way.
Aspen is a horse who is not picky when it comes to food – she’ll happily munch on most treats offered to her. However, there are a few treats that stand out as her absolute favorites. At the top of the list are Chick-fil-A hash browns and nuggets! There’s something about the taste and texture of these treats that Aspen just can’t resist.
Aspen is a talented horse who has worked hard to achieve great things. One of her proudest accomplishments came in 2021 when she was invited to participate in the Junior National Hunter Derby. This is a prestigious event that brings together some of the best riders and horses from around the country. Being invited to compete in the derby is a testament to Aspen’s skill, hard work, and dedication.
Alexandra has many wonderful memories with Aspen, but one of her favorites stands out as particularly special. It was right after they had purchased Aspen, and the weather was too cold to ride. Alexandra decided to head down to the barn to spend some time grooming and getting to know her new horse. When she entered the paddock, Aspen came running towards her with joy and excitement. This moment was particularly special to Alexandra because she felt like it was the start of their bond. It was a moment of pure connection and trust between a horse and rider that would only continue to grow stronger over time. For Alexandra, this memory will always hold a special place in her heart as a reminder of the unique bond she shares with Aspen.
