Meet Arthur, a cunning 7-year-old Bay Gelding owned and shown by Meg Giannetti. Arthur lives at Pine Hollow Farm in New Caney, TX, where the pair trains with owner and trainer, Will Roberts.
Meg often adds to her posy of ponies and this year was the first time I had photographed Arthur. The goal was to get him next to his brother, Nelson “Corduroy”, for a stunning piece of wall art of the two together blown up in her home. The boys were perfect after long days of showing, standing there as if they were statues allowing us to get the picture-perfect shot she will cherish for a lifetime.
Meg has owned Arthur for a little over a year now. He was a green baby when he first came to the farm, and like most of her horses, an old soul. Meg recently started showing Arthur in the Adult Hunters and after some practice, and getting to know one another, the pair has exceeded her expectations. Arthur has assumed his role as Meg’s perfect go-along pony as she continues to better her practices each and every day. At Meg’s last horse show, in Kentucky, she placed Champion with Nelson, “Corduroy”, who was also 1st in the Under Saddle, and Reserve Champion on “Arthur”, who was 2nd in the Under Saddle! She shares this as her most joyous memory, accomplishing such grand things with both of her boys at the end of a 4 week-long horse show.
