Lil Ruf Rhinestone is an 11-year-old Quarter Horse Gelding. He lives in Springtown, TX, with his owner and rider, Sabrina. The pair does Reining.
We all have that one horse that sticks with us, our heart horse, and Lil Ruf is Sabrina’s. As she puts it he is her “unicorn”. Lil Ruf is the son of Sabrina’s old show mare bred to her husband’s family’s stud. Together Sabrina and Lil Ruf have many accomplishments to be proud of. The pair were the 2019 SWRHA Limited, Intermediate, and Non-Pro Year-End Champions. The pair also qualified for the 2019 NRHA NAAC Affiliate Championships and finished Top Ten.
Sabrina describes Lil Ruf as very low-headed. Lil Ruf Rhinestone is a fat and happy show horse that has quite an attitude. He has many special quirks that Sabrina loves about him, but having to narrow them down to a few is when he rubs his head on his front legs whenever you remove his bridle is her favorite. It’s the little things like this in their individual personalities that are always the cutest things!
While at the farm, Sabrina was telling me that he prefers to drag his nose on the ground when he is walking into the show pen, so I knew we needed to get a portrait showcasing his signature nose on the ground look. Needless to say, Sabrina fell in love with the portrait of that little nose almost touching the ground.
