Giovanni lives at Tara Royal Equestrian Center in McKinney, TX, where he and Anne train with Tessa McKinney. Giovanni is an 18-year-old Mecklenburg Gelding. His sire is Gloriosus and his dam is Melodie.
One of Anne’s favorite quirks about Giovanni is that he begs like a dog. He will hold one leg up and arch his neck for a snack, and if this does not result in some sort of treat, he will switch legs and continue until he is satisfied with a cookie!
Anne describes Giovanni’s personality as such a personable one. He loves his snacks… I mean can you blame him! Giovanni is a social butterfly, he loves being able to visit with other horses any chance he gets.
Giovanni is Anne’s first horse, she was initially able to lease him. The love everyone shares for their first horse is an unbreakable bond that Anne is no stranger to. Anne shares with us how Giovanni not only taught her how to ride but how to trust. Giovanni is basically a huge teddy bear and is one to please. “He is so forgiving and a fantastic teacher. He will not do something unless it is properly asked for.” -Anne
During our session, I was able to get a few shots of Anne’s little ones with Giovanni. If those shots don’t explain his kind-hearted personality, I don’t know what does! They are absolutely precious! I love being able to include little ones and family members during our sessions when possible. Memories like these are ones that will be cherished for a lifetime.
