Amy and her family with their beloved Wild Bill Jones at Wild Rose Equestrian Center. Wild Bill is a 24 year old Morab.
A favorite memory of Amy’s is when she cantered him bareback, arms outstretched to her sides with my eyes closed on a lunge line. She was flying. Though they only ride recreationally…. that doesn’t mean they don’t accomplish a lot. Together the pair usually ride bareback but also play around with Western Dressage and wading in the creek barefoot on warm summer days. Ann has also had experience in English riding on the flat, over jumps, cross country, chasing cans(barrels) and poles. What a fun pair! I absolutely love when people dedicate themselves to one discipline but also love the adventurer’s that try it all!
“I felt a bond I never knew could exist between horse and rider. We were completely just one being, together.”
With his Arab Background, Bill has the tendency to be very high energy, but with age, he has mellowed out quite a bit. Amy calls him “hypervigilant” as he notices everything, especially if it is new to his environment. One of her favorite traits about Bill is his strong neck and chest, especially when he rounds up and tucks his nose, it just looks magnificent. His tail is also awesome, but being a flea bitten gray drives her crazy keeping it clean. We understand that!
