First of all I have to say a HUGE thank you to everyone that contributed to this amazing shoot! As you can probably imagine planning a session with 3 different horse and rider combinations as well as an entire team of people is quite the task, but with the amazing team of people that we had the pleasure of working with everything went off perfectly. I am so glad that I was able to drive in from Missouri to be a part of the first ever Faces of Pin Oak shoot!
Thank you to Love and Makeup Beauty for making sure Keely & Sydney looked their best for their pictures, Trapp for so graciously allowing us to use your new gorgeous facility, Lauryn of the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show for helping to coordinate everything and listen to my crazy ideas, and everyone who provided items for the shoot including E. F. Meeks, Elaine Turner, Exceptional Equestrian, LuxeEq, The Polished Rider, and Festari for Men.
When I think of the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show I think about the obvious equestrian element, but I also think about the amazing Galas and Events. Equestrian by Day and Black Tie by Night is what popped into my head, and led to the two distinctive looks. I always encourage my clients to think about side of their box and do something fun and whimsical for their portraits with their horse. I knew that these riders deserved to be pampered and truly have a once in a lifetime portrait experience for their Faces of Pin Oak Portraits.
I think that it is fun to share with everyone how the looks and styles came together for the shoot and the ideas that I put together, and then the final images of what everything came out like once all of the amazing vendors put together their favorite items for the shoot.
I love putting together style boards for my clients, and this is a service that I offer for my Whimsy Session clients. My Signature Whimsy Sessions come with complete styling and rental of designer dresses for their portrait session, as well as a hair & makeup artist to help make them look their best.
Over the next few weeks I will be featuring each rider’s looks and include links of where you can purchase each item, make sure you check back on the blog to view more of their portraits each week.
Here was the Equestrian Style Inspiration Board.
The equestrian look came together so incredibly perfectly. I was blown away by the items Elaine Turner provided for Sydney to wear, I mean that Jacket was absolutely amazing and the centerpiece of her look, and I love how Sydney’s scarf from Exceptional Equestrian added an equestrian flair. Keely’s look was the perfect preppy equestrian look with a twist, Exceptional Equestrian provided the items for Keely’s look. Gah, I think everyone should own a pair of bright or bold breeches, because these red breeches are AMAZING. Trapp’s look was provided by Luxe Eq from Cavalleria Toscana, and his Tie was from E.F. Meeks. Trap even sported his lucky belt as a part of his equestrian look.
Here is the Black Tie Look Inspiration Board.
My go to place when it comes to formal dresses is Rent the Runway. I immediately started browsing their site looking for inspiration for the Black Tie Look. Keely’s dress was rented from Rent the Runway and I knew it was the perfect dress for Keely as soon as I saw it… partially because she is an Aggie, Whoop!… and partially because she can often times be seen sporting a Maroon show coat. Sydney’s Dress actually came from my Client Closet and is a piece from Renegade Bridal & Gala. Trapp’s suit was provided by Festeri for Men and was absolutely one of the most gorgeous suits I have seen in my life, and was paired with a bow tie and pocket square from E.F. Meeks. The girls also sported accessories from Texas Silver Rush.
Don’t forget to check back to see more details about each person’s look!
Good luck to everyone who is showing at Pin Oak this year, and don’t forget to stop by and say hi if you are at the show. I am set up in a booth next door to the Great Southwest offices. Just look for the big white walls and the girl with the purple hair.
