When I embarked on this project I may have underestimated the amount of work that this would entail just a tad bit. Just to prep each horse’s images and their blog post takes around 5 hours. Just keeping the blog going is practically a full time job in itself. So many nights I have looked at my husband and asked him, “What was I thinking?!” Then I get a good reminder of how awesome what I am doing really is, because lets be honest this whole project has been a blast! I mean a goal of photographing 365 Horses in a year was ambitious but blogging each one of them, well that is like super human ambition.
I would be lying if I didn’t admit that it has been tough at times, but I am so thankful for so many amazing clients who have trusted me to photograph their horse and share their story with the world. Incredibly thankful for each and every person who has shown me patience and understanding and they go through this journey with me.
I have to be honest, I did take the month of March off from blogging, because I needed a bit of a catch up month. March was an incredibly insane month all in its own, with photographing 3 weddings and attending the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show..but don’t worry there will still be 365 Days of Horses, but you will have to forgive me if there is a break or two in there. On top of this, I have finally been getting around to getting my mare Lucy back going after having her baby last year. I think she has enjoyed her two years off of work from being bred and having a baby, but I am dying to start riding again! This also means I have to carve time out of my schedule, which I know my fellow boss ladies can understand it is tough sometimes to pull yourself away from your business.
I am so excited for some of the amazing horses and stories I have coming up in the next few months. I am still accepting applications to be a part of 365 Days of Horses. The month of May I will be traveling to San Francisco and be there for 2 weeks, and will also be making one more trip back in June. If you know anyone in the San Francisco area make sure you share my page with them so they can apply to be a part of 365 Days of Horses. I will also have openings for 2 Horse & Rider Portrait Sessions.
Don’t forget to comment on your favorite blog posts each month! You have until the 15th of the following month to comment on the prior months blogs. The horse each month on the 15th with the most comments on their blog post will receive an Canvas Gallery Wrap.
