Ocala Florida Equine Photographer | Vendi the Black Bay

Vendi, Weyka, is a 13 year old Black Bay Trakehner by Kovington and a Saxon mare. She was bred by Amy Denny, who also owns and breeds Vendi.

This black bay mare with three white socks is a beauty with a tender personality that likes to take charge of her pasture and establishs that she is the top horse and keeps the other mares in check. When I photographed Vendi a few months ago she was pregnant, and has recently had a gorgeous foal.

Vendi is described as a lovebug and naps while being groomed.

Amy primarily uses Vendi as a broodmare producing German Verbrand Olbenburgs.

Vendi was bred by Amy, so when they met it was when Vendi was only a few hours old and it was love at first site! Amy also describes Vendi as laidback and that she loves her Stud Muffin treats!

Vendi was the Reserve All Breeds Champion in 2007.

Amy has been riding horses since she was a child. Amy has owned horses for over 30+ years. She has always loved the smell of a horse and the barn. She enjoys taking care of them, viewing them in the pastures from her porch and of course riding them.

Amy’s favorite memory of Vendi was “breeding Vendi for the first time and she produced a beautiful black filly. I realized after watching her raise this foal what a great broodmare she was and how she stamps her foals with her personality, they all love their humans and are very easy to train and handle from an early age.”
