Clara, Santa Clara BX, is a snowflake blue roan Appaloosa Lusitano cross Mare. Clara lives in Spicewood,TX.

Jamie, Clara’s owner, has only had Clara for a short time. I believe it had only been a few weeks when I photographed this gorgeous snowflake blue roan. In this short time, Clara had already stolen Jamie’s heart. Clara is incredibly kind and personable in her nature. She says “hello” to everyone who walks past her pasture regardless if she knows them or not. Clara also really enjoys rolling right after she is bathed, regardless of how much Jamie tries to stop her.

Jamie does dressage, and is quickly realizing that Clara is talented in anything she asks her to do. Eventually the pair hopes to do lower level eventing. I can honestly say after photographing this gorgeous Appaloosa Lusitano cross, that she is up for anything. Because, honestly she just stood there while photographing her and despite all of our crazy attempts to get her attention she just stood there looking at us like we were crazy.

Jamie found Clara on a Facebook page specifically with Andalusian and Lusitano horses for sale.

This enjoyable mare loves to eat just about anything.

Jamie started riding when she was just 12 years old, and has pretty much had a horse since then. Horses started as a passion for Jamie at a young age, and Jamie never quite grew out of the “horse stage” of life. Jamie started riding western and showed western pleasure quite a bit, and then eventually started running barrels and even team roping after she ended up with her horse at a team roping barn. After getting a finger caught and almost losing an appendage flashed through her mind, Jamie decided to change disciplines. This is when she got into dressage, and Jamie has been an English rider ever since.
