Game Day—also known as Melo—is the definition of charm, personality, and performance. A stunning 10-year-old Zangersheide, Melo is ridden by Peyton Scott and trains with Melanie Wright. Known for his love of bananas and taking selfies (yes, really!), he’s a barn favorite and a rising star in the ring.
This summer, Melo and Peyton teamed up for what became a winning streak to remember—champion for six shows in a row. “I just started riding him this summer,” she says, “and we really clicked.”
Interestingly, Melo actually started out as her mom’s horse. “We’ve had him for three years,” she explains. “But this year I started riding him myself, and it’s been amazing.”
Peyton shares, “My mom is a trainer, so I’ve been riding for as long as I can remember. I’ve had horses since I was a baby, and I got my first pony when I was five. My favorite thing about owning horses is the bond we build—I love having fun with them and learning their personalities.”

Portraits for Charity was an idea Karinda dreamt up to help give back to families impacted by Childhood Cancer in memory of her husband’s sister Jessica.
