BOHDANIA | 11 YEAR OLD SWEDISH WARMBLOOD MARE | HOUSTON, TX
Barb, Bohdania, is a swedish warmblood mare. Barb was bred by Mical Duball from Magnolia, Texas. Barb is owned by Daniel Bedoya, and leased by Charlotte Odom. The pair trains at Rendezvous Farm in Houston, TX.
Barb is a bay colored horse with two hind white socks. Barb also has a white star and snip on her face. One thing that makes Barb unique is that she is a smaller horse. She stands at 15.2hh but she is a powerhouse horse. Barb is always ready to go and tries so incredibly hard for Charlotte each and every time.
Charlotte found Barb over the summer of 2023. Charlotte was looking for a jumper horse, and ended up trying Barb and one other gelding. Charlotte shares that Barb “was a ride I was not used to, and very different from my past horse but so fun and forgiving, I knew we would have a bright future together. We went back the next week to try her again and I brought my Dad because he rides as well. He signed the lease and I’m so blessed to have a Dad that gives me the opportunity to ride such an incredible mare.”
Charlotte grew up riding and taking horse lessons in middle school. Charlotte explains that she has “always loved horses first and the sport second. I love how horses don’t care if we are doing every show or just a few shows here and there. They don’t care whether we have the trendy tack or not, they will give us love if we give them love.”
Charlotte’s favorite memory “is the day she came home. Her show name is Bohdania, and was called Bo, but it just didn’t fit. We were not planning on changing her name but Sophie said “she looks like her name would be Barb” and it just stuck. She is such a spunky mare ready for anything. I’ve never had a mare and always grew up with a gelding and I’m so lucky to have her as my first mare.”
