RED | 7-YEAR-OLD AMERICAN SADDLEBRED GELDING | DAYTON, TEXAS
Meet Red, the 7-year-old American Saddlebred known for his striking chestnut coat and right hind sock. Red is a standout at Lonestar Saddlebreds in Texas, where he is ridden by Sarah Behrend.
Sarah shares her favorite memory with Red is their first show together. “My favorite memory with Red was showing him for the first time and winning with him. We showed as a hunter, which was a new division for him,” Sarah recalls with pride.
Sarah’s relationship with Red began when she started frequenting the barn and eventually working there. “I met Red when I started going to the barn all the time. Once I started working there, we formed a very good relationship,” she shares.
Red has a unique personality and a ton of quirks. “He is always first to meet you at the gate to come in. He can be bossy, but is also a sweetheart,” Sarah says. His favorite treat is Toasty Cheez-Its, which he eagerly enjoys.
Sarah’s passion for horses began at the age of 12 when she started riding her friends’ horses. “I got into horses when I was 12. My friends all had horses, and I got to ride theirs. I have owned horses on and off since I was 14,” she shares.
Sarah and Red are excited about their future together and look forward to many more memorable moments and achievements at Lonestar Saddlebreds.
