GALAXY OF JOY (EGG) | 10 YEAR – OLD HOLSTEINER MARE | ARGYLE, TX
Meet Galaxy of Joy, affectionately known as Gucci, the 10-year-old Holsteiner with a dark bay coat, a large white blaze, and a white sock. Gucci is a cherished resident at Fox Glen Farm. You can follow their adventures on Instagram and Facebook.

Katie shares her favorite memories of Gucci: “My favorite memories are of her as a baby. Her blaze was huge, and she had these really long legs, so in order to reach the ground to eat grass, she had to spread out into a tripod. We took her to inspection as a weanling. She was so cute with her little braids, and when she was turned loose, she just stood there. They had to chase her, and then she just ran laps. I should have known then she wanted to be a jumper.”
Gucci was bred by Katie, so their journey began right after Gucci’s birth. “I was the breeder of Gucci, so I met her shortly after birth. She was around 3 weeks early and born during the day! I came home, and there she was, huge white face and long legs. Just adorable. 10 years later, and here we are at our second Pin Oak,” Katie explains.
Gucci has a vibrant personality and is the definition of an “in your pocket” horse. “She constantly sticks her tongue tip out the left side of her mouth, is known for looks with her white eye, flaps her lower lip when ready to go, and loves to lick and hug. She loves her alone time in turnout and would just walk around all day and night if allowed,” Katie describes.
Gucci’s favorite treats include peppermints, though she isn’t picky and will eat anything. Katie’s daughter always gives her part of a protein bar or donut before shows.
Gucci has achieved remarkable accomplishments, including 5th place THJA end of year Adult Hunter in 2022 and Holsteiner Horse of the Year in both Adult and Green Hunters that year. In 2024, she was the Pin Oak Champion in both .85 and .90 jumpers.

Katie’s equestrian journey began in Maryland during elementary school through a YMCA program, where she joined the 4H horse and pony club. “I haven’t had them in my life in some capacity since. Recently got back into showing as an adult as my human children left the nest and Gucci was ready. My favorite thing about horses would have to be taking care of them, learning their personalities, and the connections they make with you,” Katie shares.
Katie and Gucci are looking forward to many more joyful and successful years together at Fox Glen Farm.
