Meet Pickles, a charming 14-year-old Haflinger residing at Elevated Equine in Austin, TX. Pickles, with his adorable personality and striking coat, is a favorite among the riders at the barn. Elevated Equine is known for its family-friendly atmosphere and excellent training programs.
Aurora has owned Pickles for almost 6 months, but she had no idea for the first two! He was a surprise present. Pickles was given to Aurora for her 5th birthday, wearing a big pink bow!
Aurora, fondly recalls the first time they met. Pickles’ playful demeanor and willingness to learn made him an instant hit. One of Aurora’s favorite memories is their first show together, where Pickles’ spirited nature shone brightly.
When it comes to food there is absolutely one thing that Pickles can not resist. A bright yellow or pink peep makes his tummy so happy and he can almost not contain his happiness.
Pickles loves to play and has a special fondness for apples and sugar cubes. Emily describes Pickles as her “little rascal,” always up for a fun ride or a playful romp in the paddock. They currently compete in pony hunter classes, and Emily, Aurora’s mom is excited to see what the future holds for them.

Portraits for Charity was an idea Karinda dreamt up to help give back to families impacted by Childhood Cancer in memory of her husband’s sister Jessica. With the help of the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show family, Karinda has raised over $30,000 for Candlelighter’s Houston since starting this project.
