TALLULAH | 10-YEAR-OLD BAY HANOVERIAN MARE | HOUSTON, TX
Meet Tallulah, aka “Lulu”, a 10-year-old bay Hanoverian mare with a white star on her face who lives in Houston, TX. Lulu is owned by Marisol Hess and leased by Elle Wuertz who trains with Patty Roberts out of Memorial Park Hunters.
For Elle, riding and the love of horses is a family affair. She first got her start riding from her family and then started out on her adventure to a horse camp where she was able to ride many horses and learn many different types of skills and abilities.
Lulu loves a good peppermint! She isn’t shy when it comes to treats, she will eat pretty much anything. The strangest thing she liked was the peep marshmallows!
Elle’s favorite memory with Lulu is when they were in Kentucky one summer. Elle and Lulu were going around a Derby course and Elle realized that Lulu was her whole heart, her everything. Elle and Lulu ended up getting second in their very first derby together! After the derby was over, Elle and Lulu went to take some pictures, and Elle decided she wanted a snow cone. Elle explains that she got blue raspberry and lime, which is her favorite. Elle went back to Lulu’s stall to tell her great she did and to give her some cookies, and Lulu leaned over and ate her snow cone! This was the day that Elle fell in love with Lulu all over again.

Portraits for Charity was an idea Karinda dreamt up to help give back to families impacted by Childhood Cancer in memory of her husband’s sister Jessica. During the 2023 Pin Oak Charity Horse Show Karinda photographed around 150 Horses and Dogs and was able to donate just under $15,000 to Candlelighter’s Houston.
