SCOUT | 2 YEAR-OLD BORDER COLLIE | NAVASOTA, TX

Scout is a male black and white Border Collie, who was bred by JBK Border Collies. This playful pup is bursting with energy and has a unique personality that is sure to make anyone smile. Nina, Scout’s owner, often describes him as being incredibly fun, silly, and too smart for his own good! But perhaps the most endearing aspect of Scout’s personality is his tendency to always have his tongue hanging out of his head. It seems like every photo of Scout captures his tongue in action, which only adds to his lovable charm. With his quick wit and playful nature, it’s no wonder that Scout is such a beloved member of his family.

Nina’s dream of having her own Border Collie started when she was just a little girl, having grown up in a family that always had these intelligent and energetic dogs. With her heart set on finding the perfect companion to call her own, Nina waited patiently for the right moment. That moment finally arrived during her senior year at Texas A&M University, when her mother surprised her with Scout the day after Christmas. As an early graduation present, Scout became Nina’s loyal sidekick and they have been inseparable ever since. For Nina, owning Scout is a dream come true and their bond is truly special.

Scout is always on the lookout for a tasty snack. While he enjoys a wide variety of treats, there’s one thing that Scout absolutely can’t resist – anything that Nina eats! Whenever Nina is snacking on something, Scout is quick to come over and investigate. He’ll sit patiently and give Nina his most adorable puppy dog eyes until she shares a bite with him. It seems that no matter what Nina is eating, Scout thinks it’s the best treat in the world.

One of Nina’s most cherished memories with Scout took place during their time living in Pennsylvania. Despite the cold and snowy weather, Nina would often take Scout on hikes along the Appalachian trail to keep him active. On one particular hike, they came across a beautiful wooded area with a small river flowing through it. Without hesitation, Scout sprinted down a snowy hill and dove straight into the chilly water. Nina watched in amazement as Scout splashed around, seemingly immune to the frigid temperatures. He even jumped on the thin layer of ice covering the surface of the river just to break it open and take a dip. With the picturesque scenery and Scout’s playful antics, the memory of that snowy day remains one of Nina’s favorites with her beloved furry friend.
