TOBY | 3-YEAR-OLD CATAHOULA & ST. BERNARD | ARGYLE, TX
If you’re a dog person, you know that each furry friend has a unique personality that makes them special. Toby, a three-year-old Catahoula, and St. Bernard mix, is no exception. With his striking black coat and white spotted feet and chest, Toby’s appearance turns heads wherever he goes.
Megan, Toby’s owner, got him from a friend she went to high school with. And ever since then, the two have been inseparable. But what makes Toby stand out the most is his behavior when they’re in the truck together. According to Megan, every time they hop in the truck, Toby falls fast asleep, regardless of the duration of the trip.
It could be a quick two-minute ride to the store or a long twenty-hour drive across the country, and Toby will snooze away peacefully. But as soon as the truck comes to a halt, Toby wakes up with a burst of energy, wagging his tail and acting like it’s the most exciting thing he’s ever done.
This behavior has become Megan’s favorite memory of Toby. Seeing the look of excitement and enthusiasm on Toby’s face when they arrive at their destination after a long drive always puts a smile on Megan’s face. It’s a testament to Toby’s loving and adventurous spirit, and Megan wouldn’t have it any other way.

Portraits for Charity was an idea Karinda dreamt up to help give back to families impacted by Childhood Cancer in memory of her husband’s sister Jessica. During the 2023 Pin Oak Charity Horse Show Karinda photographed around 150 Horses and Dogs and was able to donate just under $15,000 to Candlelighter’s Houston.
