CASINO ROYALE | 16 YEAR OLD DUTCH WARMBLOOD | HOUSTON, TX

Gus, Casino Royale is a Dutch Warmblood Gelding. He lives and trains at PJP Farms in Houston, TX. Gus is leased by Julia Sand.

Gus is an adorable Fleabitten Grey Gelding with a small blaze on his face. He is a horse with a delightful sense of humor that never fails to make everyone around him laugh. He loves to entertain and can often be seen making silly faces or playing tricks on his stablemates. However, underneath his playful exterior lies a heart of gold. Gus is a cuddle bug at heart and relishes any opportunity to be pampered and showered with affection. His favorite activity is snuggling up with his human friends and nuzzling them with his nose.

One of Gus’ most endearing quirks is the way he holds his head up high, much like a pigeon. It’s a funny sight to behold, and it only adds to his already captivating personality. Despite his petite size, Gus has a big heart and an even bigger personality that makes him a favorite among both humans and animals alike.

Julia discovered Gus through her trainer. Although their first ride together was uncoordinated and a bit challenging, there was something about Gus that caught Julia’s attention. She couldn’t quite put her finger on it, but she felt an instant connection with him. Despite their initial struggles, Julia’s gut instinct told her that Gus was the horse for her. She trusted her intuition, and it turned out to be the right decision. Gus and Julia have since formed an unbreakable bond built on love, trust, and a mutual understanding that transcends words.

Gus has a sweet tooth, and his favorite treats are a testament to that! He loves to snack on juicy apples as a daily treat, but when it comes to something truly special, nothing beats cotton candy. It’s a rare treat that he savors with every bite, and he’ll do just about anything to get his hooves on some. Watching Gus nibble on cotton candy is a sight to behold – he becomes absolutely giddy with excitement, and his eyes light up with joy.

Julia’s lifelong love for riding horses can be traced back to her childhood. Her mother, who also rode, introduced her to the sport when she was just two years old. Ever since then, Julia has been hooked. She loves everything about horses, from their majestic beauty to their unique personalities. For her, there’s nothing quite like the feeling of being in the saddle and experiencing the bond that forms between a rider and their horse. Julia’s favorite thing about horses is that each one has its own distinct character and quirks. She finds it fascinating to get to know each horse’s personality and to see how it shines through in their behavior.

One of Julia’s favorite memories with Gus was when they were in Wellington and decided to give him cotton candy as a treat. Gus was absolutely thrilled and couldn’t get enough of the sweet, fluffy treat. However, when the cotton candy dissolved in his mouth, he became quite agitated and scared. Julia recalls that Gus started biting at the air and squirming around as if he thought someone was trying to hurt him. Despite the momentary panic, it was a funny and memorable experience that they both look back on fondly. It was just another example of Gus’s endearing personality and how much joy he brings into their lives.
