CURTIS | 12 YEAR OLD WARMBLOOD | AUSTIN, TX

Curt, Curtis, is a Warmblood Gelding. His sire is Captain Fire who is by Contendro I. Curt is a charming and loveable horse with some unique characteristics that make him stand out. One of his most striking features is his nose, which is as soft as velvet and just begs to be kissed. Curt has a sweet and affectionate personality, and he loves nothing more than to snuggle up with his human friends and give them kisses. When he goes for walks, he often rests his head on their shoulders, enjoying the closeness and warmth of their presence. Curt lives and trains at Madrone Ranch Stables.

Curt is a very vocal horse and gets excited when he hears his human approaching the barn. If they don’t come to see him right away, he lets out a little call and even bangs on his door to get their attention. But despite his eagerness to see his human friends, Curt is patient and gentle, always happy to wait for them to come and spend time with him.

Morgan has always had a special bond with Curt, but their journey together began when Morgan’s trainer Rachel discovered him in Europe. Rachel came across a video of Curt and knew that he was something special, so she immediately shared the video with Morgan. Morgan was smitten with Curt from the moment she saw him and knew that he was the horse for her. They quickly arranged to purchase him, and Curt soon became Morgan’s “heart and soul” horse. Though they were thousands of miles apart when they first saw each other, Morgan and Curt’s connection was strong from the very beginning.

Curt loves to indulge in treats, and he isn’t too picky when it comes to his snacks! He enjoys a wide variety of treats, from cookies and donuts to the bread of a chicken mini and even Chex mix. But one of his absolute favorite treats is watermelon, which he just can’t get enough of. Despite his love for all kinds of treats, there is only one thing that Curt has ever turned his nose up at – a sour skittle! Otherwise, he’s happy to munch on just about anything his human friends offer him, always with a grateful and contented expression on his face.

Curt is a talented and accomplished horse who has achieved great success in the world of jumping. He has a string of impressive accomplishments to his name, including back-to-back wins in the 1.20 jumper classic and a championship title at the Winter Series. Curt’s skill and determination have made him a force to be reckoned with in the jumping arena, and his human friends are always proud to watch him in action.

Morgan’s love for horses and riding began at a young age, and she has been in the saddle for as long as she can remember. Though there was a time when she stepped away from riding, Morgan eventually found her way back as a working amateur. Riding became a way for her to unwind and escape the stress of her corporate job, and it quickly became a passion once again. For Morgan, there is something truly special and humbling about the connection between horse and rider, and she feels grateful for every moment she gets to spend in the saddle. Despite the challenges that come with riding and competing, Morgan wouldn’t trade the experience for anything and continues to be inspired by the beauty and grace of these magnificent animals.

Morgan has shared countless special moments with Curt, but there is one memory that stands out above the rest. Winning their first jumper classic together was an unforgettable experience, and the fact that they were able to repeat their success the following weekend made it all the more special. As Morgan and Curt worked their way through the course, she could feel his determination and eagerness to perform his best. When they crossed the finish line as the winners, she knew that Curt was just as proud as she was. For Morgan, that moment represented the ultimate partnership between horse and rider, and it is a memory that she will cherish forever. She feels lucky to have Curt as her teammate and knows that they have many more great moments ahead of them.
