Corduroy is a 6-year-old Czech Warmblood who lives in New Caney, TX. He is better known as “Nelson” around the barn. Nelson is owned and oh-soooo adored by the kindest, Meg Giannetti. Nelson lives at Pine Hollow Farm in New Caney, TX where the pair trains with Will Roberts.
Nelson is a dashingly handsome shiny chestnut gelding with a small white star on the center of his face and a single white sock. Nelson’s sire is Aristo Z and his dam is Majka.
You might be thinking that Nelson looks familiar. If you followed along with our social media and blog posts last year, you most likely saw him! I photographed Nelson last year at Pin Oak along with a horse Meg has since sold. This year we decided to photograph Nelson and his new brother, Arthur. Meg really wanted a big beautiful portrait of the two for her home. This year at Pin Oak was the anniversary of when Meg purchased Nelson, so it was only fitting she did another beautiful portrait of her angel!
If you know Meg, you know that she loves her horses. I mean we all love our horses, but Meg LOVES these guys unconditionally no matter what. It’s truly amazing. And Nelson, well he’s something else. He is the apple of her eye! These two are a match made in heaven and he knows that he has his mom by the heartstrings. Over the past year, the pair have grown so much with one another. Meg shares, “I love him more and more every day – which feels impossible because I love him so much I feel like my heart will burst!”
Nelson absolutely LOVES any and all treats! When we asked Meg what his all-time favorite snack was she told us, “Nelson would literally eat anything, he’s a garbage disposal!” But of course, he loves all the basic treats like carrots, Mrs. Pastures’ horse cookies, apples…the list could go on and on!
