Meet Linus, an 11-year-old Dachshund owned and loved by Jennifer Gamboa. Linus is a gorgeous short-haired Dachshund. This handsome boy has the most recognized coat among Dachshunds, a smooth coat with black and tan coloring.
Jennifer has owned Linus for 11 years now as she’s had him since he was a baby. He loves nothing more than hunting and traveling anywhere he’s able with his mom! The Dachshund breed is described as clever and lively, yet also courageous to the point of rashness. He’s bred for perseverance, which may also be another way of saying they can be stubborn! Although what dogs can’t be at times? Even though Dachshunds have a reputation for being entertaining and fearless, with Linus being no exception, what they want most is to cuddle with their people at the end of the day.
Some of you might be familiar with Jennifer Gamboa or may have even seen this sweet face of Linus’ around the horse shows; Jennifer is our horse show’s secretary! Even more so, Nico Gamboa, Jennifer’s son is a prominent rider in the Pin Oak Horse Shows. Nico is an assistant rider and trainer at October Hill Farm in Fort Worth, TX under Christian Heineking.
During Pin Oak, Nico decided it was the perfect time to surprise his mom with the kindest of gifts. He made an appointment for Linus to be photographed and kept the session a surprise! What better Mother’s Day present than a surprised portrait of your baby from your baby?! I have to say this was the sweetest thing I’d seen in a while and Linus was ready to go for the camera! He was born a star and knew exactly what to do as soon as he got up on the couch!
