Meet Catalyst, “Catcher”, who is a 14-year-old Holsteiner Bay gelding that was imported from Germany. He has a white star and 3 white socks. He is owned and ridden by Kerris Luedeke who trains with Kim Snyder and Linda Carothers at Bit By Bit Farm in Elgin, TX.
Catcher joined the Luedeke Family at the end of 2021 and although he and Kerris haven’t been together long they have made many memories together! Kerris shares her favorite memory Catcher to date which was from Monster Mash last year at GSWEC. “My best friend, Charlotte, and I were hula girls on hula horses. We decided last minute to enter the costume contest so we hopped on our horses bareback. We didn’t place but we will next year! And we have soo much fun doing something different!!”
Catcher loves treats, he especially loves peppermints!
Kerris tried many sports before making her way to the equestrian world…ballet, soccer, gymnastics, but riding was the only thing she ever truly enjoyed. She shared that her family has had horses all her life, so it was an easy and obvious adjustment to make. It was in her blood! Kerris’s favorite part about owning horses is how calm they make her feel. If you’ve had a bad day, she goes to the barn and is able to forget about it all and decompress.
