Meet Ellie, also known as “Winter Eclipse” in the show ring. Ellie is owned and adored by Taylor Morris. Ellie is a 17-year-old Holsteiner Fleabitten grey mare. She is by Winter Chill (x South Pacific). The pair train at Flander’s Polo & Riding Lessons in Houston, TX.
Taylor has owned Ellie for a short 6 months now! She shares her favorite memory thus far with Ellie would have to be the pair’s first show together. “She is a careful mare with a heart of gold and is so willing to please, it really shows in the ring how much she loves her job.” The pair had an incredible weekend showing and they even placed first in one of their classes. A perfect start to a blossoming partnership to come.
Ellie definitely has her quicks. One of those being very particular about her riders, she’ll let you know who she likes and who she doesn’t!
When it comes to treats, this is where Ellie is not particular. She loves anything and everything handed her way! Although, she does have a special love for Apple Jack’s cereal.
Horses have always been a part of Taylor’s life. Growing up with horses in the family, and having been in the family for the past few generations, Taylor naturally shared this passionate love and joy for riding. She shares that one of her favorite things about owning horses is the enjoyment she gets from the partnership and connection created with each individual horse.
