Meet Georgia, the 12-year-old Yorkshire Terrier owned and adored by Caitlyn Lazzari. Georgia is a purebred Yorkie with the original brown, black, and golden coloring throughout her coat. Although her breeder is unknown, Caitlyn got Georgia at a horse show in Atlanta, GA many years ago, hints the name “Georgia”.
Caitlyn shares the day she brought Georgia home to be one of her most memorable days – Georgia was her 14th birthday present. “I had been begging my parents for a mini Aussie that I had come across at the horse show. They had tried convincing me that if I was serious about wanting a dog, to look for something smaller and possibly hypoallergenic. As a young teen, I was determined to not take “No” for an answer and go home with a dog. One evening, we ended up strolling into a pet store behind my younger brother. I immediately went straight to the back to see if they had dogs. After a quick scan, I spotted the tiniest little baby Yorkie. I asked to get her out and to my surprise, fell madly in love right away! She was the runt of her litter, a whole 1.5lbs, absolutely tiny, and needed a home immediately. She was very quiet and I knew she needed a home. This pup was going home with me whether everyone liked it or not! I HAD to have her and give her the best life! After a few minutes of trying to convince my mom, we FaceTimed my dad – who of course just laughed, he knew that there was no way of getting out, plus she was precious! It has been 12 years this March and she’s been a blessing ever since!”
From day 1 the pair clicked and were inseparable. Georgia went everywhere with Caitlyn and the Lazzari Family, to horse shows, and family vacations even attending college at Ole Miss with Caitlyn. Caitlyn shares that she took Georgia everywhere with her in college as well, from the gym to hanging out on the square, the pair were always together.
If Georgia had it her way she’d eat anything and EVERYTHING! This little 5-pound pup sure isn’t picky when it comes to food…she’d be a garbage disposal for treats if she could be. Although she isn’t allowed human food, she’s quick enough to catch the occasional dropping from time to time and thinks she’s hit the jackpot! She LOVES her pill pockets! Every night she gets her medicine in them and she knows when it’s time. She will go to her medicine and cry at it…thinking she’s getting a treat of course!
Although Georgia is only 5 pounds, she doesn’t let her itty bitty size determine one single thing in her life. She IS the boss and runs the household. Georgia has many other four-legged siblings…horses, cats, dogs, even mini donkeys, and she is boss.
Georgia’s favorite activities include sunbathing, golf cart rides on the beach, and going to the barn to see Jax.
“Georgia has brought so much love and joy into my life. She has the sweetest personality and we love each other unconditionally. She will always hold a special place in my heart. She is my heart dog who filled an empty space that I never even knew I had. She is truly one of a kind.”, shared Caitlyn.
