| When Beatriz first contacted me to have portraits with her horse Ella, I asked if her husband Gustavo was going to join in, and of course he finally obliged and joined her for some portraits with her gorgeous dapple grey Thoroughbred mare. Although, it did take a little convincing, every time I saw Gustavo at Great Southwest Equestrian Center I would make sure to remind him that he had to join us for portraits and I am certain Beatriz had to do some convincing on her own as well. I love that she chose an all white equestrian look and then we mixed it up a little with adding in her show jacket as well, and going for the more casual without a jacket look when Gustavo joined in. Often times people think that Horse & Rider Portraits are just for a girl and her horse, however I always recommend inviting other important people in your life to your portrait session. From your significant other, to your kiddos, or even sometimes it might be your dogs or other pets that join in for your session, after all they are a part of this horse crazy life we have chosen to live as well and they should be celebrated in your portraits as well. |
