Equestrian & Soccer Senior Portraits | Georgia & Quirell | GSWEC Katy, TX

This senior portraits session at Great Southwest Equestrian Center in Katy,TX is like no other senior portrait session you have seen. Georgia’s mom called me right before the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show wondering if there was any way we could do portraits of Georgia with Quirell at the show. Quirell was for sale, and this would likely be their last show together, and it was also Georgia’s senior year. She also mentioned to me that Georgia played soccer and was going to be playing soccer in college, so it was a HUGE part of her life as well. I knew we had to also do some portraits to celebrate that part of her life as well so I told them to bring her soccer things along to the show.

I have to admit, it was quite an eventful day. We were minutes into the session when their trainer called and said someone wanted to try Quirrell so we had to wrap up portraits early. I put on my wedding photographer cap, and went into the quickest session on earth, making sure we were able to capture a ton of amazing portraits of Georgia & Quirell together and I think it is safe to say that we blew it out of the water. We captured an entire session in about half of the time, and then we spent the rest of the evening doing soccer portraits which were an absolute blast.

We pulled out the smoke bombs and everything to grab some really epic portraits of Georgia in her soccer gear. These may have actually been my favorite portraits from the entire evening. We spent way too long throwing, heading, and kicking the ball (excuse my horrible soccer vocabulary) while I tried a million different things to get some really cool soccer senior portraits. In the end, my favorite images is the one with the green smoke bomb, it is seriously so fun.

For Georgia, we were able to capture a few of her favorite passions that she spent so much of her time was devoted to on and off-campus. Georgia, like many of us, is an avid horse lover and wanted to be able to capture the connection she shares with her sweet pony. Throughout high-school Georgia spent many hours riding and showing as much as possible. When she wasn’t with her horses, you could find her on the field playing soccer. With a love for the outdoors and staying active all while balancing her social and academic life, Georgia had a busy schedule throughout high school, to say the least, which well prepared her for her college career to come.

Senior portraits are such an incredible way to celebrate the past 4 years that many of us used to think would NEVER end, then all of the sudden… bam, you’re moving into college. I love senior pictures and always encourage them for many reasons. It is such a monumental time in one’s life and being able to celebrate and cherish the memories made and accomplishments achieved are so important.

People always ask me when the perfect time to schedule senior portraits is, I always recommend scheduling your senior portraits the summer before your senior year. Senior year is a whirlwind with everything, and for horse girls, the spring time is extra busy. It is best to get your portraits done early and know that you have one thing checked off your list before the year even starts.
