Dobby the Boxer | Missouri | Fine Art Dog Portraits

Meet Dobby, a 2-year-old Boxer who lives in Springfield, MO. He is owned and loved by Crystal.

Dobby is a black Boxer with a bit of white on his face, chest, and toes. Dobby was a rescue that Crystal ended up bonding with when she was working at a vet clinic as a vet tech. He was brought in with two littermates and they were very sick. Luckily, the vets and team at the vet clinic immediately got to work on saving their lives.

Dobby needed two blood transfusions in order to survive. However, his body was rejecting the transfusions initially. The vet team knew that without the transfusions he wouldn’t make it so they gave him a big dose of steroids, said a prayer and hoped that his body would accept the transfusions. Dobby stayed at the vet clinic and when Crystal came back the next morning he wasn’t only still alive but he had a bit of sass! She’s never been so excited to see a sassy puppy.

Dobby is the sweetest boy at home but he is very shy around new people and doesn’t normally come out of his shell. Although he’s gone everywhere with Crystal he remains a scaredy-cat in public. However, one of Crystal’s favorite things that he does is when gets the zoomies or smiles at her. He loves pup cups from Starbucks and loves having a good time.

Did you know Boxers weren’t a popular dog breed in the United States until the late 1930s?
