Buddy the Boxer | Missouri Dog Portraits

Meet Buddy the 8-year-old Boxer from Missouri. Buddy is owned and loved by Crystal. Buddy is most recognizable by his fawn coloring, black face, and white chest, and toe.

Buddy originally belonged to Crystal’s grandmother. Crystal shares that her grandmother had bought Buddy about a year after she lost her previous dog, which was her soul dog. She bought him specifically because he looked like her last Boxer. She even gave him her last dog’s name. However, he is not the same dog and it took a while for her to accept that. Losing animals is hard and something that everyone dreads and we all handle in our own ways, but Buddy’s kindness and goofy personality won her over and he loved her dearly until her passing in December 2017. Buddy has been with Crystal ever since. “I cannot describe the gratitude and love I have for this dog who brought my grandma love and peace when she needed it the most.”

While Buddy is a large, manly, scary-sounding pup, he is the biggest scaredy-cat in the whole world! He can’t even have metal bowls on the ground because the rattling noise scares him.

Buddy is one to please and is always ready for a good adventure, or a good snuggle, whichever Crystal prefers.

Buddy’s favorite snack is Watermelon!

Ever since Crystal was a kid she has always owned Boxers. She has always loved their goofy personalities and how family-oriented the breed is. Buddy fits into her family just perfectly and she couldn’t imagine life without him.

When you think of the Breed Boxer, does it ever make you wonder where it came from or why? Well, did you know that this breed of dog has an impressive left hook? When playing, they have a tendency to stand on their back legs and kick out their front paws as a human boxer might do. Hints the name…Boxer!
