Summer Song | Hacienda Con Vista | Horse Portraits Austin,TX

Summer Song is a beautiful bay mare with a big white blaze. Around her farm, Hacienda Con Vista, which is located in Austin, TX Summer lives with her best mare friend, Comme Ci, and an entire group of Mules. I say it is “her” farm because if you have met this beautiful mare you would know that she is the real boss of the farm, however, Comme Ci normally has to protect her from the Mules. Summer is a 12-year-old Zangersheide who was born in Belgium. She is out of Showtime Z and by Clintissimo Z.

Summer is ridden by Hampton. Hampton trains with Debbie Seymour, Hope Glynn, and Tori Colvin. Although Hampton and Summer are superstars in the ring, Hampton’s favorite time with Summer is spent riding her bareback on the trails at the horse shows and at home. Summer was 8th overall last year at the Junior Hunter Finals and 5th in the country.” I think it is critical to go out and just be free with your horse because it strengthens your connection and is amazing for your horse’s brain and yours!”

“My favorite thing about Summer is how much she cares about me. She could very well treat me with the same feistiness that she does everyone else, but towards me, she is very loving.” Hampton found summer at Pony Finals in 2018 from the Duffy’s at Little Brooke Farms. They got her from Heather Caristo-Williams. Summer was one of the first horses that Hampton tried and instantly fell in love with. She has had her for a little over three years.

This Diva of a horse is picky but she loves carrots.

Horses have been in Hampton’s family for generations, but Hampton and her brother Davis are the first generations to do Hunter Jumpers. Hampton grew up going to rodeos and watching barrel racing. When she told her mom that she wanted to start riding, she signed her up for summer camp. Hampton loved riding horses, so the search for the perfect barn started. So many horse girls have a similar story, just a little summer camp or a few lessons can totally change an entire family’s life. For the Baker family, I think it is safe to say that one summer camp changed just about everything.

Did you know that Bay dun horses with stripes and are also referred to as Zebra Duns? Their coats range from tan to shades of yellow. The black points are sometimes diluted with other colors.
