For Side VDL, is owned by Aphrodite and goes by “Johnny.” Johnny is an 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood. This stunning chestnut gelding is incredibly sweet and loves cantaloupe and watermelon. They train at JP Farm with Peter Pletcher at PJP Farm in Magnolia, TX.
Johnny is a brilliant chestnut with a white sock and blaze. Aphrodite met Johnny in the summer of 2020. He was begging for treats the entire time and has only become more spoiled. Johnny has helped her accomplish so much in their short time together. From her first 3’6” equitation win to qualifying for medal and Maclay Finals he has always had her back. At the 2020 Capital Challenge, she did the North American Equitation Championship with him for the first time and they just missed the cutoff for the second round. This moment was so special to her because she knew Johnny was the kind of horse that would trust her no matter what.
Aphrodite got into horses at the age of 6 after her Aunt Cristi put her on one of her ponies for the first time when she was 4. She begged her mom for riding lessons after riding “Princess” and once she turned 6 she started to ride. She got her first pony when she was 10 and her first horse at 12. Her favorite thing about owning horses is the bond that you form with them. They become part of the family.
