Far Away Figaro is owned by Katy and goes by “Figaro.” Figaro is a 5-year-old American Saddlebred. The pair lives trains with Tommy Beton at Maranatha Stables in Baton Rouge, LA.
Figaro is a gentle giant standing at 17’2 hands, that’s 70 inches tall! He loves kids, watermelon, and peppermints. Katy’s favorite memory with Figaro is riding him for the first time. She hadn’t ridden a horse as exhilarating as Figaro. She got off and felt lucky to even get the chance to ride him. She never thought in a million years she would own such a nice horse. But two years later the stars aligned and he was hers!
Katy and Figaro compete in Gaited Show Pleasure classes. He was also Reserve World Champion as a weanling in hand. His confirmation for a saddlebred is absolutely beautiful.
Katy’s mom is best friends with her trainer, Tommy, and has been since they were kids. She has had horses with him since they were 16. One day Tommy offered to throw Katy a birthday party at the barn when she was turning eight years old. She has been riding and showing since! The love of horses is in her blood.
