ESH Cartorie, Aspen, is a 13-year-old KWPN (Dutch Warmblood). Aspen lives in Purcell, OK at the Oklahoma Stud Boarding Facility. Together there is where rider, Alex, show in the jumpers. I photographed Alex and Aspen’s session in Oklahoma at the Oklahoma Stud, Alex’s Mom even joined in on the session. We wrapped up the session with Black Background Portraits of Aspen by himself.
When we asked our horse lovers to share with us what her favorite memory with their horse is, we generally prepare for a response of “How do I choose just one?” or “Wow that’s a tough one.” But in this case, Alex knew right away. She shared with us the story of when she and Aspen showed in Waco and cleared their first round together. Remembering the excitement and confidence you feel when you finally NAILED it after all of the hard work you’ve put in is definitely one of the best feelings. Especially for the first time with a new horse and really getting one another.
