Ark De Triomphe | Spring, TX Equine Portraits

Ark De Triomphe is owned by Sam and was ridden by Grace at Pin Oak. His friends call him “Lumpy.” Lumpy is a 10-year-old Warmblood.

Lumpy is a stunning black gelding with three white socks. Grace leased and competed on Lumpy for 6 months. One of Grace’s favorite memories was competing at the Kentucky Horse Park this summer at the Split Rockjumper show. Competing in Kentucky was a lifelong dream of Grace’s and she got to walk out of the Rolex ring with a third-place out of a very competitive group. When she heard her name called tears filled her eyes as that was her last competition competing as a junior rider. Lumpy is so special to her and took her to places I had only dreamed of going.

Lumpy is Grace’s unicorn because he made her feel special and he always gave 110% even if she did not. He took her around the Rolex ring in a thunderstorm and didn’t bat an eye. His favorite treats are sour gummy worms!

Grace has been riding for 13 years. She started at the age of 5 doing the POA circuit. At first, she used to cry when her trainer told her it was time for jumping, now she’s achieving things little Grace would have never done. She loves the peace horses bring. She can walk in a barn on a bad day and she knows her mood will change.

These are the stories of the Horses, Dogs, and Goats that were photographed at the show, these stories complement a photographic book that Karinda is printing and donating to Texas Children’s Hospital featuring Portraits of each and every animal she photographed.
