Aston | Austin, TX Fine Art Equine Photographer

Aston Kervec is a 11 year old Selle Francais. His sire is Diamant De Semilly and he is out of Manuela De Chateau. He lives at Madrone Ranch Stables in Austin, TX, and is owned by Maia. This gorgeous chestnut has a super unique white spot on his belly.

Maia’s favorite memory about Aston is from a horse show. They got there around 6 am and he was laying down sleeping. When she went into his stall to pet him he let her sit down next to him and even laid his head in her lap. She was having a bit of a rough week, and that little snuggle session really brought her spirits up. It is truly amazing how snuggling with a horse can just make everything so much better.

Aston is from Franch, and Maia says he has a bit of a “rude Frenchmen” personality. He is always bumping people with his head looking for treats and even broke her nose ring once looking for cookies. Everyone at the barn says his personality reminds them of the turtle from Finding Nemo because despite the head bumping he is incredibly chill and laid back.

This confident horse always jumps, he has never stopped to look or spot at a jump. Even if Maia makes a mistake he always still tries to jump the jump.

She first saw him on a website and her trainer said they had to go look at him because he was such a good deal, at the time they weren’t even looking for a new horse. They were the very first people to look at him when he arrived in the US and they bought him on the spot.

Aside from loving carrots, he also loves Chick-fil-A waffle fries.

In 2019 he was fourth in the Texas Equitation Cup, and the pair always places high in Equitation.

Maia started riding when she was three because she saw her friend ride in a lesson and wanted to try. She has been riding ever since. She loves the responsibility that owning a horse and riding has taught her and all of the friends she has made along the way.

Did you know that Chestnut horses are known to be among the wisest?
