Radio Flyer | Dripping Spring, TX Equine Photographer

Radio Flyer is owned by Isa. The pair rides and trains at Madrone Ranch Stables in Dripping Springs, TX which is just outside of Austin. He is an 8-year-old Selle Francais. His sire is Kannan and he is out of Demie Lune. This speedy boy will eat just about anything, but he loves apples and mints.

Isa bought Radio from Equisale Sporthorses in Florida after her old trainer found another horse there that she wanted to try. Isa went to Florida to try the horse her trainer liked, but they ended up letting Isa try a few other horses. When she sat on Radio she had so much fun that she knew she had to get him. He was incredibly speedy, and like nothing else, she had ridden. She also jumped the highest she had ever jumped and knew she was in love. Now they are rocking it in the show ring and even placed 7th in the Pin Oak Low Invitational.

Isa’s favorite thing about him is how much he loves his job. He loves to please you and wants to do his best for you because he doesn’t like being in trouble. One time Isa fell off in the jumper ring, and Radio kept going and jumped all of the jumps without her on him! He is also incredibly cuddly and will let you just stand in the stall and hug him. Everyone that meets Radio just thinks he is a big puppy dog because he’s so sweet and cuddly and loves to play. Isa shares, “When you go to catch him in his paddock he thinks you’re trying to play a game with him so he lets you get close enough to think you’re going to be able to catch him but then he turns around and goes off bucking. He also has the longest forelock I have ever seen on a hunter/jumper horse and everyone is obsessed with it. It’s adorable”

“My favorite memory with Radio is for sure trail riding with him in Tryon, North Carolina on the cross country course at Tryon International Equestrian Center. It’s so beautiful out there and Radio loves to just walk around and stretch his legs in the grass and the nice weather. It was also so relaxing to take him on a stroll on my off days or after we had a clear round in the jumper ring. It was definitely one of my favorite things to do with him.”
