Aspen Shadow is a beautiful 11-year-old, 15.3″ grey Irish Sport Horse mare. She is most commonly known as “Aspen” around the barn and is owned by Kylie. Kylie and Aspen train with Kim Cox at Tally Ho Farm in Conroe, TX. Aspen is out of Tina Lux by Cassino.
Kylie shared one of her favorite memories of her and Aspen when they were at a horse show in Katy with us. “I ended up falling off and Aspen continued to jump the rest of the line. She then was cornered in the arena next to the announcer’s box, and she jumped out of the arena and started galloping back towards the barns. We ended up chasing her on a golf cart and found her in the parking lot. Later on, I found out she had also chased a little girl on a horse. Another one of my favorite memories would definitely be the time we jumped 4.3” bareback together!”
Eliza shares that Aspen is a very loving, kinda mare, yet VERY lazy. She is highly food motivated, I mean who can blame her, aren’t we all! And one of Aspen’s very unique traits that Kylie loves is that Aspen has always seemed to love being ridden bareback, and is much more willing to do anything when she is being ridden bareback.
Aspen’s favorite treats are Chick-fil-à hash browns!
Kylie has been riding since I was 3-years-old, and got my first horse at the age of 11! She shares that her favorite thing about owning horses is the bond that both horse and rider develop with one another!
Eliza found Aspen after searching for 8 months for a new hunter. While at a show she ended up trying her. Weirdly enough it wasn’t love at first ride. But, Eliza’s trainer knew that they would be a wonderful match and as time went on, the pair became inseparable.
“She will always be my heart horse and I’m so lucky to call her mine.”
