CASH | 13-YEAR-OLD QUARTER HORSE GELDING | ELIZABETHTOWN, KY
Cash is a 13-year-old Quarter Horse who lives at Wild Rose Equestrian Center in Elizabethtown, Ky., and is loved by Aspyn.
Cash and Aspyn are just beginning their riding journey together – when we met them, they had only been working together for about a week. Aspyn started riding two years ago and after a recent trip to a rodeo, her instructor suggested she was ready for her own horse.
I keep Cash and Wild Rose Equestrian Center. I train with one of the instructors named Ms.Amanda.
“The instructor I got him from thought he would be a good match for me, and she was right!” Aspyn said. “After I hopped on him, I could tell that he was the right horse. He listened well but still had some funny bugs, and he loved when my mom gave him head scratches!”
So far, Aspyn has learned Cash has some very specific likes and dislikes. He loves mints and head scratches, but he does not love having his chin scratched. He also has an allergy to a green door in the barn area (don’t all our horses have some fence post or door they don’t like?)
“Cash is a very goofy horse,” Aspyn said. “Cash really likes to back into things. When we were riding close to his pasture, we rode by the gate and he stopped. I turned him around to get away from it, and he started backing up into it!”
Aspyn’s favorite quirky story so far from Cash was the first day they spent together at Wild Rose
“He was moved into another pasture and I went out to catch him. It didn’t work out so well. I even had grain! It took a good 10 minutes to finally catch him. He circled around me before coming up to me. Guess the grain finally worked!”
Love the story❤️ And absolutely amazing photos!
Looking forward to seeing what this duo brings!
I love watching these two learn from each other!
Nothing is better for a girl than her horse!
I’m so glad this sweet boy found his person!
