BLUEGRASS GHOSTBUSTER | 3-MONTH-OLD THOROUGHBRED/WELSH FILLY | PARIS, KY
Bluegrass Ghostbuster, also known as “Boo,” is a three-month-old Thoroughbred/Welsh cross filly bred by her owner, Cindy. Boo is by Nistar Blazing Kansas, out of Stiring Up Demons, by Demons Begone. She lives at Fox Run Farm in Paris, Ky.
We’ve profiled Cindy and her awesome rescue efforts before, but Boo is from her own breeding program. Of course, Boo is too young to be working yet, but Cindy expects when she’s older she will finish at a large pony size that will allow her to be driven or ridden.
This “intelligent” little one is already a fan of carrots.
Cindy has been a lifelong horse person and is now a trainer and has taught the Kentucky Equine Education Program at the Kentucky Horse Park. Cindy and her family have rescued and trained several thousands of ponies in the past 35 years, and has pictures and amazing stories about each one.
Cindy says Boo was larger than she had expected she would be, even in utero. Her dam is 16 hands, but her sire is only 11.2 hands.
“When the veterinarian came to check her the next day he thought she was a thoroughbred foal from her size,” Cindy said. “When he asked the sire and I told him it was Kansas, he suggested in jest that I should put her on the Maury Povich TV show in the segment of ‘Who’s Your Daddy?'”
I can’t wait to see how this sweetheart grows and develops. I’m sure she will bring Cindy lots of joy in the coming years!
