Gordie lives at Galloping Springs Ranch with Jennifer Jarvis. Marisa has had Gordie since he was 2. He can say yes, and even bow. He is calm, patient, and honest. He loves his two little boys, Dylan who is 5 1/2 years old and Nathan who is 21 months old.

The pair has been learning Dressage for the past two years. Gordie has shown in Showmanship, Hunter Under Saddle, Hunter Hack, Equitation, Discipline Rail, and Halter at APHA and PtHA and open shows in California.

“I’ve owned Gordie for 22 years! A man who brought in a bunch of sales horses to our barn in California brought him in Oct 1994. He came off of the trailer so calmly and quietly as a two year old. He was also stunning. I had to have him”

This Loyal boy love Mrs Pasture and Red Vines.

“Gordie and I were the PtHA Zone 2 Reserve Champion All Around senior youth pair in 1998. He has won multiple year end awards at APHA, PtHA and Open shows in several events.”

“I started riding when I was 11 because my mom took lessons as a little girl. I don’t think my parents thought I’d fall so deeply in love with riding. My favorite thing about owning Gordie, specifically, is that he’s my best friend. I’ve had him through HS, college, getting married, graduate school, two pregnancies, moving half way across the country… he’s been by my side for all of it. He’s the same solid boy, every day.”

Marisa shares, “The more they know you love them and truly care for them, the more willing they are to try their hardest.”

Marisa’s favorite memory of Gordie is “When Gordie was a four or five year old, we would go to some local open shows in CA to prepare for breed shows. One time we were in a large English showmanship class. We completed our pattern and set up for inspection. Gordie decided that was a good time to roll. In the arena. In the middle of a class. He got his front legs and half his body down and then seemed to realize it was not such a good idea. I was stunned but finished my pattern. We took a 3rd place out of over 15 entries. It’s just like Gordie to always be wanting to nap. He’s a little lazy.
