VINTAGE BAD BOY | 5 YEAR OLD QUARTER HORSE GELDING | ELIZABETHTOWN,KY

Butler, Vintage Bad Boy, is a 5 year old quarter horse gelding. Butler was bred by Kevin Smith. He was reining and cutting champions in his bloodlines including Hollywood Vintage, Hollywood Dun It, Peppy San Badger, Doc Bar, Poco Bueno, and King.

Butler currently lives at Wild Rose Equestrian Center in Elizabethtown,KY and is owned by Lexi. Butler is a very versatile and will go english or western. The pair has done everything from Reining, to Speed Events, Dressage, and Jumping. Butler is sweet, willing, and kind at everything he does. Lexi learns the challenge of learning new things with Butler and the sense of accomplishment she gets when they conquer new things.

“Butler was brought to the farm by my instructor as her project horse. I was riding my very first horse, Dozer, at the time. Unfortunately, I outgrew Dozer. He was retired and I found myself searching for a new riding partner. As I researched what I would like to have in my next horse, I found that I was very interested in reining. It just so happened that Butler came from a long line of reiners! While I was very sad to have to say goodbye to Dozer, the new relationship that awaited me with Butler was exciting! I have now had Butler for over a year. The first time I met Butler was when I was trying him out to see if he was the one I wanted, at the time he was still young and still learning but I knew he was the one for me when we were doing all kinds of fun reining things that I never tried before! There was also something about him that just wasn’t the same from any other horse.”

This willing horse loves carrots.

Lexi has always loved horses, when she was little she was promised a horse from her dad once he retired. When Lexi was nine they started talking about letting her take lessons before owning a horse. Lexi had Dozer for about 2 years before purchasing Butler. One of Lexi’s favorite things about owning a horse is when she accomplishes little goals during the week or month and and you get to celebrate those accomplishments.

“My favorite memory with Butler was when we went to our first fun show, we entered in western equitation and speed events. Granted I was a little scared it turned out okay, A good lesson I learned right there with him was when I calmed down, he calmed down and it makes riding a lot more fun. One of the best things that happened is that we actually placed second in my western equitation class! I was really excited because it was our first ever show together and he did amazing!”
